Willow is our newest horse at SOHYR.  She is a 7 year old Hanoverian mare working diligently to become a dressage star.  However, about a year ago Willow began to have some lameness issues that baffled her vet and farrier for months until they discovered a tumor deep in her hoof.  The tumor was removed last September.  Willow is expected to make a full recovery, but it will take a long time for her to heal since it can take up to a full year for a new hoof to grow.  In the meantime, caring for Willow provides a wonderful opportunity for learning ground work, wound care, and round pen skills.
