History
Spirit of Hope Youth Ranch became incorporated in the fall of 2006. We offer programs for at risk youth and a place for broken horses to heal, in return helping the children heal. After our founding board members met in a way that could have only been orchestrated by God, Spirit of Hope became incorporated in the fall of 2006, with Saint Mary’s Episcopal Church in Childersburg donating $4,000 seed money.
In June 2007, we secured the lease of an equestrian facility in Wilsonville and began renovations. We opened in January 2008 and were honored to have Kim and Troy Meeder of Crystal Peaks as guest speakers at our open house celebration in March of that year. Over 150 unduplicated children came to Spirit of Hope in 2008 (our first year), 236 in 2009; and 341 in 2010.
